What is the purpose of the role?

As a Medical Instruments Sterilisation Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment, where quality and precision are vital. You will ensure that medical instruments are properly maintained and sanitised, so they are ready to be used again and potentially save someone’s life.

We want to help you reach your full potential by learning about a wide range of hospital instruments and working in different functional areas of the sterilisation process as part of a defined progression and personal development plan.

 

This role is for a night shift, working Monday to Friday between 10.30pm and 6.30am. For the initial training period, you will work Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

This is the start of your career in the medical devices industry, so we don’t need any previous medical industry experience but if you have some that’s a bonus.

Below are the skills and personality we look for in someone joining our team as a Medical Instruments Sterilisation Technician:

 

  • Good written and spoken English skills as you need to follow sometimes complex written and verbal instruction. This means we need a minimum of grade C, GCSE or its equivalent in English.

  • Good general numerical skills as you may be required to calculate dilutions or perform simple arithmetic. This means we need a minimum of grade C, GCSE or its equivalent at Maths.

  • You will be happy to sometimes work in a pressurised environment where there are time pressures but no opportunities to cut corners as quality means everything with what we do.

  • You will enjoy working in a team where you are flexible and support each other to ensure customers receive the very best in sterilisation services.

  • You will have an extremely keen eye for detail to ensure no mistakes are made but when they are it’s spotted before our service reaches the customer.

  • You will have integrity and take personal responsibility for the work you do.
