‘Are you looking for a job where you can make a real difference?’

Respite Support Worker –Southampton -  £10 - £10.25 per hour (part time or full time)

We are The Rose Road Association, a Registered Charity providing essential Care and support Services in Southampton. We are passionate about supporting children and adults with Learning disabilities, Physical disabilities and/or Autism.  We are seeking to recruit a Great Support Worker, someone with the right values and attitudes to work in our Overnight Respite facility in Southampton – could this be you?

You don’t need to have previous experience in this type of work, and you don’t need any particular qualifications, as we will provide all the necessary training to develop you to your full potential.   You do need to be over 18 years for this role.

This important role provides support to our children and young adults staying overnight at our Respite facility to enable well-being and independence and provide parent carers with a break from caring.

Because the children and adults who stay with us are individuals, no two days are the same. One day you might be needed to assist with personal care (washing, dressing and feeding) or hoisting while on other days, you could be taking part in fun activities within or outside the home like soft play, swimming, watching movies in our purpose built cinema, going bowling or eating out. It’s a really varied job that is hugely rewarding and makes a positive difference to the lives of local young people.

Your hours will be worked between our core hours of 7am to 10am and 3pm to 9pm weekdays during term time and 7am to 9pm on weekends and school holidays. We recognise that you need down time to yourself so you'll only have to do weekend hours every other week. Weekend hours are paid at a premium rate.

So, if you are someone who shares in our values, is committed to Quality and Standards, is Person Centred and committed to helping others, and believes in Teamwork, Trust and Respect, then we would love to hear from you.

Alongside this fulfilling role we offer:

  • High Quality Training
  • Pension Scheme
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Free Employee Assistance and Wellbeing programme with 24/7 cover
